To celebrate 70 years of design, Dior has dedicated a beautiful book to each of its seven creative directors, from Christian Dior to John Galliano, via Yves Saint Laurent and Raf Simons, brought together in an anthology. The fashion lover on your list is sorted.
What do Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri have in common? Dior. These seven creative directors have all made their mark at the Parisian couture label, since Christian Dior opened its doors in 1947. On the label’s 70th anniversary, Dior is paying homage to these emblematic designers, dedicating a volume to each to illustrate their creative visions and the impact that they had on the house. Dior by Christian Dior 1947-1957 will be published on Assouline in December as the first book in the anthology, followed by the next in 2017 and 2018. This richly illustrated book by Laziz Hamani sheds light on 80 iconic pieces from the early days of the house, with the story of the Bar suit told by Olivier Saillard. A must-read for fashion lovers this Christmas.
